Vale do Lobo: the luxury tip of the Algarve’s Golden Triangle

One of the vertexes of the so-called Golden Triangle in the Algarve, Vale do Lobo is the largest luxury resort of its kind in Portugal operated by the same company. Vale do Lobo Ocean is an 18-hole golf course composed of the two original 9-hole courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton, inaugurated in 1968 and then merged in 1995. The course features undulating fairways which run alongside the nature reserve, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic.

Vale do Lobo Royal was designed by top American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, making it one of the most prestigious and pictured golf courses in Europe.

The resort has hosted since the very beginning renowned golf tournaments such as the Portuguese Golf Open and the Portuguese Golf Ladies’ Open. It is also home to two popular annual tournaments, namely Vale do Lobo Amateur Week and Open Foursomes, open to both members and guests.
